TPO's Message
We at VESIT strongly believe in the fact that the students who pass out from our college should be able to take on the challenges of the real world and have the potential to excel in their chosen career. The cell merely acts as a catalyst in the process of transforming a student to a professional.
In order to do so, we need to create awareness and train the students beyond the academic curriculum. Success is possible only when there is the right blend of technical skills, soft skills and an attitude to compete and excel.
The cell is headed by the training and placement officer, assisted by two students from each branch as placement coordinators.
The main objectives of the training and placement cell are
- To create awareness through a series of career guidance lectures by experts from the corporate world.
- To train the students in soft skills through workshops, seminars and mock sessions.
- Train the students to face the tough placement procedure, by organizing mock placement sessions.
- To help students to get internship / project in industry.
- To develop a mutually beneficial lasting relationship with industries by initiating signing of MOU.
- Promote faculty development programs to enhance the teaching learning process.
- To create awareness about alternate career options
- To provide counseling and advise to matters related to handling stress, emotional intelligence (EQ), Positive thinking etc.
These activities are done in collaboration with the respective departments and through the student societies throughout the academic year so that the students are strong enough to meet uncertainties in the real world. As it is rightly said “Tough times do not last……Tough people do”.
All these efforts have resulted in improving the image of the college in the corporate world. The evidence to this lies in the fact that the institute has a very good / excellent placement record.
This achievement is only possible because of the support given by Management, Principal, staff and students. We would also like to express our gratitude to all the companies for the support and confidence shown in us by recruiting students from our college year after year.
The training and placement cell also interacts with the alumni to improve upon the database of companies visiting us for placements.
We are sure that in the years to come the college will be known not only as a centre for technical excellence but also for providing excellent career opportunities.
