The Process Control Lab aims at training the students in the field of Process Instrumentation, control and optimization. A number of Pentium PCs are interfaced with Hydraulic, Electro-pneumatic and Electro-Hydraulic systems which are available to demonstrate dynamic processes and to monitor process variables. A PLC & Emerson DELTAV DCScontrolled systems are also used to train the students.

In this laboratory practicals are performed on the Transducer trainer kit, Temperature Control System, Synchro Transmitter Receiver and Digital DC Servo Motor. A powerful software available in this lab is MATLAB. All types of simulations in continuous and discrete domain can be performed on MATLAB. Associated with this is the block diagram simulation software SIMULINK, which is also used.Experiments have been designed to demonstrate the time response and frequency response of control systems, performance criteria for optimizing the transient response, and system parameter identification. Students may simultaneously work out the solution on the PCs using MATLAB and see exactly how the theoretical and practical observation differ.

The Laboratory is equipped with all the latest transducers used in the industry.

This Laboratory has been established to familiarize the students with the capturing analyzing and processing different bio signals. Biopac is an integrated instruments which the students use for such experiments. Physiology Lab kits and digital temperature feed back system are also used for training the students in the area of Biomedical Instrumentation.

The lab is equipped with Pentium-IV (IBM) and HCL computers with latest software such as Proteus VSM, Turbo Assembler 6.1, Macro Assembler, Embedded C for AVR. All the electronic testing equipments are available, Digital Trainer Kits and Demonstration kits (RAM & ROM), Universal Programmer, Cards for ISA, PCI and different connectors are kept for better understanding of computer architecture.

Laboratory courses on Industrial and Power Electronics are conducted in this lab. The Lab is adequately equipped with Test equipments for Power Electronic Devices & circuits, Various demonstration kits & measuring instruments are available in this lab.
